1. Overview

Power Money Group Pty Ltd (ABN 36 672 748 711) ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). As a credit representative arranging consumer and commercial finance, we collect and handle personal and financial information as part of matching you with suitable lenders. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how it's used, stored and disclosed.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity information — name, date of birth, contact details, residential address
  • Financial information — income, employment status, ABN/business details, assets and liabilities, loan requirements
  • Credit information — as permitted under the credit reporting provisions of the Privacy Act, where relevant to assessing a finance application
  • Technical information — IP address (stored as a one-way hash for security and rate-limiting purposes), browser type, pages visited and UTM campaign data
  • Communications — records of calls, emails and messages between you and us

3. How we collect it

Primarily directly from you — via our website forms (including the Get a Quote and Contact forms), phone, or email. We may also collect information from lenders, credit reporting bodies, and other parties involved in your application, where relevant and permitted by law.

4. How we use your information

  • To assess your finance needs and match you with suitable lenders and products
  • To communicate with you about your enquiry or application, including by email and SMS
  • To prepare and submit applications to lenders on your behalf, with your consent
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including responsible lending obligations
  • To improve our website and services, and for internal record-keeping

5. Disclosure to lenders and third parties

To arrange finance on your behalf, we typically need to disclose your personal and financial information to one or more lenders on our panel, and potentially to mortgage/finance aggregators, credit reporting bodies, and service providers who help us operate our business (for example, IT and communications providers). We only disclose what's reasonably necessary for these purposes, and we require third parties who handle your information to protect it appropriately. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data security & retention

We store information in secured systems with access restricted to authorised personnel, and use encryption, authentication and other reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

7. Access, correction & complaints

You can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us using the details below. If you believe we have breached the APPs, you can lodge a complaint with us directly, and if unresolved, with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au, or, given our credit activities, with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) at afca.org.au.
